Customer Review: yes they are unusual looking but they feel good!
Ok the MBT shoe is freaky looking. I admit it. But *wow* what an amazing shoe! I have 3 problems when I walk: 1)shin splints 2)lower back 3)super klutz I fall, trip etc. I have had my MBT shoes for a month now. I walk about 3 miles 3 times a week with the MBT shoes. With the MBT shoes I no longer have had problems with my shin splints. When I walk, my lower back hasn't hurt, and although there is no heel I haven't fallen once - yet. At first it was weird to have that rocking sensation but I don't even notice it anymore. I have definitely noticed that my calf muscles and leg muscles have been worked I can feel it! so don't wear them a lot in the beginning esp if you are out of shape or haven't used those muscles. The MBT's are super comfortable. They are super cushy and feel great. I really love mine. However there are a few things to consider when you buy them - you need to buy a larger size. I normally wear a 36/37 and I bought a 37 2/3. Also they are very expensive so they are an investment. But I do think they are worth it. I haven't met anyone else who owns them so I don't know what other people think but I am really happy to have bought them.

The expression Blue Stocking is not referring to the colour blue. Female Academics might get offended by this term because it is a pejorative term.

To continue in the lighter vein, stockings can be described as a garment covering the foot and lower part of the leg but not mainly intended to cover the whole leg! In the ancient days stockings were made of cloth unlike the present day varieties of cotton, nylon, knitted wool and silk. Half-stockings, also called socks cover only the foot and part of the calf.

Pantyhose or tights are quite distinct from hold-ups which are also a type of stocking which stays up on their own while normal stockings need a suspender belt.

Thigh high stockings are preferred by many due to its aesthetics, more ventilation and less seat, reducing challenges from fungus and bacteria and other ease of use particularly in the toilet.

A Fashionable and convenient way to wear a stocking is to wear panties over the stockings.

Modern stockings are designed in various styles in a broad variety of colours.

If you are fashion shy then avoid the sparkle print tights stockings with interwoven silver Lurex threads which make them sparky and shiny.
The endless list of different style and designs include Crocket Garter, Lace Body, Lace garter belt, 5" Lace Top with Opaque Stribe, Back Seam Garter. Back Seam Garter. Back seamed, Back seam with European heel and finishing hole, Beade and Biker zipper stockings and many more.

Improper stockings can break or make an outfit. While wearing a dark dress, dark stockings/hosiery is the best choice. The other alternative colours are charcoal or navy. Flesh colored stockings are fairly safe with almost all outfits. Try for invisibility and sheerness when selecting a stocking.

If you want to feel different and make a bold statement, then select a wacky pattern with bright colours. You should also note that these designs and style are not suitable for job interviews, weddings and for first dates!

MBT, Masai Barefoot Technology, was invented by Swiss engineer Karl Müller. During a visit to Korea he made the startling discovery that walking barefoot over paddy fields alleviated his back pain. Back in Switzerland, Müller began to develop a footwear technology that would make the natural instability of soft ground such as Korean paddy fields or the East African savannah accessible also to those, who have to walk on hard surfaces. In 1996, after years spent on research and development, Masai Barefoot Technology was mature enough to be launched on the market. MBTs are now available in over twenty countries, and approximately one million pairs of this revolutionary footwear technology are sold every year.
