Customer Review: MBT shoes rock!
These shoes are AMAZING. I'm 57, 50# overweight and work at a hospital where I put in six 12 hour shifts, then have 8 days off. On hard floors I average 6-8 miles of walking a night. I have one flat foot and one with a good arch. My flat foot starts to ache about 1/2 way through the shift. So I and others in this profession have tried just about every new idea that comes down the pike. Z-coils worked well but eventually I settled in to Crocs because of their comfort & coolness- you can take them off easily and so when you sit you can slip out of them and let your feet cool off. But then several of us tried MBTs. I couldn't believe it- no pain in my feet whatsoever, even after long shifts. I found myself on my feet more and moving around. I guess some folk take a few tries at them before they get used to them but I found the day I bought them I could float around in them without any mishap. They do feel different- all your weight seems to be centered in the middle of your foot- kind of a rocker feeling which forces you to keep your balance. Not a shoe to run in but for standing & walking they seem to be the best shoe out there. Until something better comes along I'll be wearing these while I work and at home whenever I'm on my feet for a long time. I guess the only thing I don't like about them is the price- but what price are you willing to pay for comfort on the job? James in Ninilchik, Alaska

But, what will you be wearing on top to match footwear that makes such a statement?

With 42% of the average UK womens wardrobe consisting of entirely black items, its bad news for your bank account but great news for your shopping alter-ego, as you head to the shops for this summers super colours. With most designers choosing bright and bold colours incorporating vivid blues, yellows and poppy reds, youll need to find the perfect match for you in terms of both the latest fashions and the spectacular colours on show.

For the mega-bold, neon clothing screams dare you to wear me!, while for futuristic fashion, the space age look is set for a meteoric rise - with metallic silver becoming the must-have colour.

But, if you think those colours are just a tad too bold, then fear not. Grey will still feature heavily this year, thanks to stylish ranges from most of the high street fashion stores. Designs showcased on the catwalks during fashion week highlighted the return of 80s power-dressing. So prepare yourself - shoulder pads are coming back, but hopefully they wont be accompanied by endless re-runs of Dallas and Dynasty! Also quite bold, but less obtrusive than the pad is the puff sleeve, also favoured by designers and guaranteed to be in plentiful supply throughout 2007, both on tops and dresses.

Denim accessories will feature heavily this year; whether its handbags or shoes, all are designed to be worn with this seasons colours. But, also expected to sell strongly this season will be the evergreen denim shorts, both as hotpants for the bold or on-the-knee versions for the more conservative amongst us. So, its good news if you want to stock up on summer fashion. But, while there is plentiful choice, the secret to making that ideal look will come down, as always to shopping around, trying on all the styles and seeing exactly what suits you!

Customer Review: They fall apart
I bought my MBT's 7 months ago and the bottom rubber around the toe is lifting. I contacted MBT and they informed me that since they are over 6 months old (exactly by 3 weeks) I needed to contact Resole America who can possibly repair the shoes. Mind you, I paid $244 dollars for these walking shoes. Resole America ask that I send a picture which I gladly did. Well, I was told these "walking shoes" should not be worn in water or dirt and that my shoes could not be repaired by them. Come on, you spend $244 on a pair of "walking shoes" only to find out when you have a problem that there is an underlying stipulation that you basically can't wear these shoes outdoors? I'm disappointed that I'm having trouble with MBT to stand behind these very expensive tennis/walking shoes. Buyer, beware!
Customer Review: Good idea-bad design
I waited for years to afford these shoes and FINALLY got them for my birthday and was oh so excited to finally get my MBT shoes! Well in all honesty, I love the sole design and how the spine is instantly put into alignment...that part is great. The things I do NOT like: The toe box is narrow and my toes feel like they are too tight in there although the shoes are plenty long enough. The uppers are thick, stiff leather which should wear for years but does NOT break in to allow them to conform to feet enough to be comfortable. They are extremely HOT which may be ok for cold winter months but that's only a few months of the year. I actually got mine in February and they were too hot by April and I live on the North-West coast of United States where our summers are in the 60's! The inside/liner is flat with NO arch support and very hard. They are really NOT comfortable to me. I am completely into fitness and anything that is good for the body so the idea of MBT was very appealing to me. These shoes could be SO much better if the upper was designed more comfortably. It would also be a plus if they actually LOOKED GOOD as well! I would have to say that the narrow toe box is probably the worst part for me as I am used to my toes being able to spread out enough so as not to feel claustrophobic in a pair of shoes.

The art of dressing for the Petite Figure

For petite figures, that is women 5'4" and under, get a fitted dress that shows off your figure. Try out petite ranges in stores and online, these have been made specially for the petite figure, so have a much better fit. Try some
vintage clothes stores, as these tend to be full of great petite buys.

When choosing a dress, choose something which has just one colour, and best to choose dark colours, this will give you a streamlined effect. To elongate your body, choose a dress with a short skirt and make sure you wear a pair of heels as this is the biggest thing you can do to make yourself taller! Keep things simple for the most amazing effect.

Here are a few tips:

  • Keep prints in proportion to you figure, no bigger then the palm of your hand, otherwise you will look like a clown.
  • Wear 3/4 sleeves, on dresses, shirts and jumpers.
  • Avoid too much jewelry, or at least heavy jewellery.
  • When layering, wear light weight materials like cotton, linen and especially silks.
  • Wear monochromatic colours.
  • When wearing separates avoid contrasting colours such as a navy skirt and a white top, go for an all-in-one colour way.
  • Keep in mind that the more fitted the look, the more flattering it will be.

If you are petite, then there are many options for you but the best is something figure-hugging and knee length.

MBT, Masai Barefoot Technology, was invented by Swiss engineer Karl Müller. During a visit to Korea he made the startling discovery that walking barefoot over paddy fields alleviated his back pain. Back in Switzerland, Müller began to develop a footwear technology that would make the natural instability of soft ground such as Korean paddy fields or the East African savannah accessible also to those, who have to walk on hard surfaces. In 1996, after years spent on research and development, Masai Barefoot Technology was mature enough to be launched on the market. MBTs are now available in over twenty countries, and approximately one million pairs of this revolutionary footwear technology are sold every year.
